Biography
Kim Gonzalez is adjunct faculty in the School of Education. She received her master鈥檚 degree in applied linguistics from San Diego State University. She has taught for 糖心传媒 for over 20 years, first as TESOL program faculty and then CTEL faculty from 2010 to the present.
Kim Gonzalez was the director for the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate program from 2004 to 2021. Before that, she was the program coordinator for the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages Certificate program, which included CLAD courses, from 1995 鈥 2004. In both programs, she was responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of program operation. She was also part-time faculty at San Diego State University in the linguistics department and the American Language Institute. She also taught for many years at high school ELD, ESL in continuing education to refugees and immigrants.
She currently teaches CTEL 74100 in School of Education teacher credential course and Advanced Analysis of English Sentence Structure for ELD teachers at the University of California San Diego, both of which provide training in English language learner education.
