Jessica Sapien

Biography

Jessica Sapien is a dedicated educator with extensive experience fostering student success and promoting lifelong learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Reading from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from California State University, Fullerton, providing a strong foundation in literacy instruction and innovative teaching practices.

Mrs. Sapien currently teaches in a K–3 multiage classroom at Rolling Hills School in Fullerton, California, where she creates a dynamic, arts-integrated learning environment that emphasizes individualized learning and critical thinking. She plays a key leadership role in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), helping the school achieve Platinum recognition, and directs an annual inclusive theater program that gives students of all abilities opportunities to build confidence and express creativity. She is also a Cotsen Fellow in Reading (2025–2027), further deepening her work in literacy development and effective reading instruction.

She holds a California Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with English Learner Authorization and is certified in Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) as well as Orton-Gillingham certification in Comprehensive Plus and Morphology Plus. Mrs. Sapien has also served on curriculum and assessment pilot committees and earned a Certificate in Clinical Practice Support from the San Diego County Office of Education in 2024, reflecting her commitment to improving teaching and learning for diverse students.
