Biography
Dr. Jesse Santana is a credentialed school psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with extensive experience in school-based behavioral assessment, intervention, and systems-level support. He currently serves in a California school district, where he provides Behavior Intervention Services, conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), develops Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and supports multidisciplinary teams in implementing evidence-based practices for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. In addition to his district role, Dr. Santana owns and operates The Santana Institute for Learning in Long Beach, California, an applied behavior analysis practice offering ABA services, special education advocacy, tutoring, and continuing education units for BCBAs.
Dr. Santana is also an active graduate-level instructor in applied behavior analysis and school psychology, teaching across multiple universities. His academic interests include functional behavior assessment, instructional program design, supervision and training of behavior analysts, and ethical decision-making in applied settings. He regularly mentors and supervises BCBA candidates and RBTs, emphasizing fidelity of implementation, data-based decision making, and culturally responsive practice.
Professionally, Dr. Santana is committed to bridging research and real-world application to improve outcomes for students, families, and practitioners. His work integrates contemporary behavior-analytic research with practical tools used in schools, clinics, and community-based programs. Outside of academia and clinical work, he enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and following professional sports.
