Dr. Julii Green Awarded Grant to Support Native American Graduate Students

Assistant Professor Dr. Julii Green of 糖心传媒’s Clinical PsyD Program in San Diego, along with her Co-Primary Investigator Dr. Wendy Peters from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, have been awarded a $5,000 grant from the American Psychological Association (APA)聽to address the unique cultural needs of Native American graduate students.

The grant, which was awarded聽under the Commission on Ethnic Minority Recruitment, Retention and Training (CEMRRAT) Grant Program,聽will establish a program model that emphasizes an Indigenous approach to training adapted聽to the unique cultural and emotional needs of the participating graduate students.

The program will offer Native student participants the opportunity to take part in virtual, bi-weekly coaching sessions, culminating in two separate post-conference debriefing and integration retreats to be held in conjunction with the 聽and the 2015 APA Annual Convention. The overarching goal of the program will be to help Native students complete their chosen program of study and reap the benefits of being economically, politically, and socially autonomous.
